The module provides a structured overview of the shipping market and looks at the ship as a technical system. The first part of the seminar consists of an overview of a ship's technical system and how that relates to assessing its value. This background information will be vital for the following seminar day where the focus is on the actual analysis of a ship's value.

Basics of Classification for Industry & Suppliers

The module provides basic information about managing newbuildings. Special emphasis is placed on approval of materials and components, yard deliveries, sea trials, surveys and certificates.

Basics in Ship Finance

The module explains the basic functions of financing seagoing vessels. The participants get into contact with the basic structures of shipping finance and the most important instruments of financing with equity and debt.

Offshore Basics and Dynamic Positioning

This module is directed at newly employed or laterally hired personnel in the maritime industry without prior knowledge of the offshore industry. The module starts with the historical background of offshore activities before going on to look at vessel types (e.g. AHTS, DSV, PSV, ROV Survey) and dynamic positioning.
